Zaria opened a whole new world.

Essiet received opportunities for specialized professional training, including a four-year Biomedical Engineering training program in the United States.

But while learning about science, engineering and the remarkable design of the human body, something even greater happened.

Essiet encountered Christ through the Bible.

His study of Bible prophecy and the Three Angels' Messages of Revelation 14 led him into a deeper relationship with Jesus and eventually into the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The scientist had discovered the Master Designer.

From then on, knowledge alone would never be enough.

Faith mattered.

Prayer mattered.

Scripture mattered.

Knowing God mattered.

Essiet had married Mercy in Zaria, and four daughters were born into their home.

Later, following painful family circumstances, he found himself raising those four girls largely alone.

He became father and mother, teacher and protector, provider and mentor.

And there was one question his daughters heard often:

“What's your plan for today?”

It became more than a question.

It became a philosophy:

Don't waste your life. Think. Work. Pray. Learn. Do something worthwhile with the day God has given you.
